The UFW Foundation strives to create an environment that promotes camaraderie, diversity, community, professional growth, respect, AND FUN for community members by offering various opportunities for members at all levels of their career and at all levels of commitment. Volunteer Opportunities

  • Community Outreach and Event Volunteer: Join our field team in supporting program outreach efforts. This may include checking-in community members for their workshop appointments, assisting community members with applications and documentation, canvassing, phone banking, collecting testimonies, and event set-up / clean-up.

Internship and Fellowship Program

We are excited to offer internship and fellowship opportunities to students and recent graduates. Internships are currently unpaid; however, we are happy to complete any paperwork to assist with academic credit, field placement, and outside funding. Individuals interested in having us host them for national and/or law school fellowships should contact Jacqueline Sernas at [email protected]

  • Legal Intern (Law School Students Only): The UFW Foundation Legal Intern will work with attorneys and DOJ accredited representatives on immigration affirmative and removal defense cases, complex research, and have the opportunity to develop a case. The Legal Intern will also participate in advocacy efforts, including outreach and education events. We are accepting applications for Spring and Summer. For information on requirements, click here.

  • Storm Assistance for Immigrants  (SAI) Internship: The SAI Program internship is a unique opportunity to contribute to a critical initiative aimed at providing direct services. Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the intern will get hands-on experience in community engagement, social impact work, and case management. We are accepting applications for Spring.   • Photography and Videography Internship: The Photography and Videography intern makes an impact on immigrant and farm working communities by contributing to UFW Foundations storytelling , media, and marketing projects. As a team member of the Communications department, the intern will use their skills to create content primarily through videography and photography such as short videos, video compilations, documentary style pieces, and photo shoots involving farm workers in rural areas. This position would report directly to the Digital Media Coordinator. The intern can expect to develop skills in communications, marketing, videography, photography, and content creation. By the end of the internship, they will have several new examples of relevant work to add to their portfolios and gain valuable professional experience in real-world application within the visual creation industry.
